I left New York today, and it’s amazing how much of a decompression takes place.  After being in the heart of Times Square for a week, you start to adjust to the sensory overload and the amount of advertising you’re exposed to.  Aside from the giant video boards and flashing lights, you’ve got street marketing teams, promotional events going on, people holding up signs outside of morning shows, flyers, and the list goes on.  Coming back to central Illinois, it was surprising how much more I was able to relax and decompress from all of the marketing and advertising I was exposed to in New York City.  I’m glad to be back, but in a small way I miss some of the new media marketing and non-traditional marketing methods I was able to witness first hand while there.
