I watched this SXSW session via Meerkat thanks to @shadoesuzanna. Admittedly, I was trying to watch, but at the same time I was having a conference call and answering emails. However, I picked up a few main points:
- Sensors are everywhere, and we should expect them to continue to grow in popularity and sophistication.
- These sensors, and the data they provide, allow consumers (or patients)
the opportunity to take action and make meaningful changes in their lives. This trend should continue with the trend that consumers have to take more ownership over their own health.
- As more data is generated, ownership over the data and
- These sensors provide a significant amount of data – both in terms of types of data, and over time – and without the means to turn this data into something meaningful, it’s just measurement for the sake of measurement.
- The (obvious) next step is to make this data meaningful and turn it into actionable steps for consumers.
